SUMMARY:INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
DESCRIPTION:The world will celebrate the 10th International Yoga Day on 21st June this year. \nYoga has much to offer to our digital\, technology-driven world. \n“Yoga is not for select individuals\, but for all the young and old\, the fit and the ailing\, the rich and the poor. With its infinite resources and potential\, Yoga can usher humanity into a new and glorious era of revolution. \nCeaseless activity in the turmoil of life takes its toll. Anxieties\, frustrations\, exhaustion of mind and body – all these accelerate the ageing process. Yoga is a powerful remedy against these forces of destruction. \nYoga has a special role to play in the world of today. It’s practice alone can remove mental and physical afflictions. It can bring joy into our hearts\, homes\, and societies. \nThe word Yoga is of great significance. It is derived from the Sanskrit root word yuj\, which means to unite. Yoga means union\, identification. Identify with the joys and sorrows of everyone\, extend your horizons\, and live above the pettiness of life. \nYoga stands for both physical and mental well-being. You can consider it as a program\, a method\, and a philosophy. It is a program in the way it assumes the shape of the movement with definite aims and objectives. It is a method in the sense that yogic practices are methodically pure. Whatever may be one’s spiritual orientation may be\, meditation and other practices can always be very useful. \nThus\, Yoga is a universal recipe and is truly the only modus operandi for Self-realization. \nDo you enjoy a happy\, harmonious life? Are you afire with enthusiasm in your daily activities? When adverse circumstances try to crush you\, do you rise above them with a cool head and easy assurance? If not\, take to Yoga.”\n– By Swami Satyananda Saraswati\, Bihar School of Yoga. \nThis International Yoga Day is a special occasion to start\, restart\, and retune your Yoga practice\, in its holistic way. \nI invite you to join me for a complimentary online session designed for everyone\, regardless of your experience level. This is a perfect opportunity to explore how simple yet effective techniques can bring serenity and focus into your daily life. \nThis 90-minute session will include: \n➢ Hatha Yoga to bring balance and vitalize the body – 30 Mins\n➢ Shavasana relaxation – 10 Mins\n➢ Pranayama – 15 Mins\n➢ Guided Meditation – 15 Mins\n➢ A Talk on Yoga Philosophy in Daily Life – 20 Mins \nDon’t miss this special day to reconnect with yourself through a traditional practice of Yoga. \nLet’s make this program special together with your presence! \nTo register \nWhatsApp Namita on: +91 96066 89190\nor\nEmail: namita@urdhvayoga.com

SUMMARY:INSPIRATIONS FROM THE HIMALAYAN MASTER
DESCRIPTION:A 100-day contemplative study dedicated to Swami Rama’s birth centenary\, inspired by his teachings\nthrough two of his profound books. \nSwami Rama of the Himalayas was raised in the cave monasteries of the Himalayas\, among yogis and adepts in the ancient science of yoga and Indian spirituality. Swamiji\, as we fondly refer to him\, was sent to the United States in the late 1960s by his master to share the science of yoga with the Western world – empowering people to live more meaningfully\, understand themselves\, and discover the purpose of life. \nAn author\, poet\, doctor\, artist\, and humanitarian\, Swami Rama transformed the lives of many through his lectures\, books\, and discourses. His method of teaching was direct and accessible\, enabling the modern mind to understand and apply ancient wisdom in daily life. Swamiji taught Indian scriptures such as the Upanishads\, the Bhagavad Gita\, and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras with both practical insight and philosophical depth. \nSwami Rama was a prolific author\, and authored over 45 books on yoga\, meditation\, philosophy\, and Indian spirituality. His writings reflect a blend of deep experiential wisdom and clarity\, rooted in the teachings of\nthe Himalayan tradition. \nIn this 100-Day online course\, we shall study and contemplate on two of Swami Ji’s books \n1. A Practical Guide to Holistic Health by Swami Rama\nThis is a book ideal for a beginner and any yoga practitioner as Swami Ji lays clearly the yogic as well as\nmodern principles of health of the body\, mind and spirit. For anyone looking to understand and take charge\nof their well-being\, this book is an invaluable guide. \nThe book offers simple and systematic approach to\n– Diet\n– Exercise\n– Breath awareness\n– Positive use of emotions\n– Relationships\n– Meditation \nAnd other spiritual practices so that the whole person – body\, mind and spirit can attain radiant health. The book is both inspiring and with numerous practical instructions for those who wish to live with awareness\, purpose and joyfully in their daily lives and become a source of joy to those around them. \nBuilding on the foundation laid through our previous study of A Practical Guide to Holistic Health\, our next\nexploration will be The Art of Joyful Living. \n2. The Art of Joyful Living by Swami Rama\nIn this book\, Swamiji shows us how to cultivate happiness and a calm\, tranquil mind. He guides the seeker in turning the mind away from its outward distractions toward inner stillness—revealing a deeper purpose to life and a more joyful way of living. \nThe book dwells on the various topics of inner exploration and self-transformation:\n– Knowing own true Self\n– Transformation of habit patterns\n– Positive and negative emotions\n– Memory and the nature of mind\n– Developing strength and will power\n– Developing intuition\n– Purifying samskaras\n– Spirituality in loving relationships\n– Meditation \nIn Swami Rama’s words\, “You are a creation of God\, but happiness is your own creation.” \nThis book is a guide to developing a loving and joyful relationship with yourself and others. \nSelf-Study and Journaling\nFor any true change to take place within\, self-effort is essential. In the yoga tradition\, this effort is known\nas the practice of swadhyaya—self-study. Swadhyaya involves both the study of yoga texts by oneself and the introspective examination of the self\, viewed through the lens of the texts. \nAs part of this course\, you will be guided to engage in journaling and personal experiments—reflecting on your habits and cultivating a joyful personality as outlined in the book. \nKeep a diary ready! \nCourse Schedule\n3rd August to 9th November 2025\nSundays | 6:00 to 7:00 PM IST\nFee ₹ 7000 \nAs a dedication to Gurudeva Swami Rama\, all proceeds from this course will be donated to the ashram Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama\, Rishikesh. \nRecommended Books:\n1.
