Yoga is to rise to

your true Self

~ Namita Sinha

Namita (1)

I am Namita Sinha, a devoted student of Yoga and Ayurveda that have shown me the path of self-healing and transformation. Trained in the most revered Yoga lineages of the Himalayan Yoga Tradition of Shri Swami Rama and the Sivananda Yoga Tradition, I have been teaching Yoga since 2011 to individuals of diverse ages, cultures, and backgrounds.

Before 2011, I served as a media, marketing, and retail professional for a decade in diverse capacities at the Titan headquarters in Bangalore. The rigorous demands of corporate life, especially as a working mother, acquainted me with the challenges of maintaining balance among my health, family, work, aspirations, and quest for my purpose in life. Yoga has shown me the way.

This inner quest sparked an inquiry that led me from a regular corporate work environment into the Himalayan foothills, which altered my life forever.

Even with all the apparent abundance in life, an unavoidable emptiness within me impelled me to search for something filling and fulfilling; a void within that I sought to fill set me on this glorious quest of knowing myself and the meaning of life. This unsatiated thirst for knowledge unveiled the world of Yoga to me which compelled me to rise above my conditioned way of living.

“Yoga is a journey of the self, through the self, to the Self.”

Meeting my guru Shri Swami Veda Bharati at his ashram in Rishikesh in 2010 unfolded the yogic and Vedic knowledge and the path to self-transformation. Delving deeper into Yoga philosophy and meditations showed me the way to knowing myself, the nature of life, and how to live more consciously.

Seeking to heal my body and lead a yogic lifestyle, I studied Ayurveda from Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri). As a student of Dr. Frawley, I understood the deeper Vedic and yogic roots of Ayurveda and its nature of self-healing. Having found the infinite abundance of yogic knowledge, I remain dedicated to this science of self-knowledge, atma-vidya.

Why do we teach?
“We teach because there is suffering in the world.”

These words of my master Swami Veda Bharati have inspired my journey.Yoga has shown me the way to rise above the sufferings of the body and vagaries of the mind; to lead a life of balance in bodily functions, equanimity of emotions, and living consciously.

I aspire to share the profound teachings of Yoga in Sanatana Dharma, which possess the potential to alleviate the tensions, stress, dependencies on medications, restlessness, and lack of direction prevalent in modern life. The timeless wisdom of Vedic science can offer solace and meaning to contemporary minds, enabling us to lead richer, more fulfilled lives.
